Kia ora, I’m Kate, an Ōtautahi based, Taranaki raised creative. I find the world an infinitely interesting place, filled with experiences and ideas that show us what it means to live. Each fleeting moment will never be the same again -- through my photography, design and writing, I aim to capture the essence of it to hold onto for just a little longer.

I have always photographed things, made things, and written things. Right from the moment I first snapped a photo on a tiny camera and drew that first picture, I have created relentlessly. Creativity is like breathing. Making is our nature. Throughout millennia we have cooked, gardened, built, painted, and sewn in order to live. In recent decades we have strayed from this natural tendency, but I aim to return to that, to help others return to it too. To slow dow, to enjoy beautiful things again, to stare at photos and get lost in them, to lie and watch the stars for hours, or the sunrise again and again.

I create high quality products that remind people to slow down and enjoy the small things. I want people to purchase something only once and to hold onto it for a long time. I want people to look at photos from all angles, to understand that a new perspective is just a head tilt away. I want people to wear t-shirts or use tote bags until they are thread bare, then I want them to sew it into something new -  a fruit and vegetable bag, a pencil case, a dish cloth.

I want us to slow down and see the good in the world. Because if we stop and look, it's there in abundance, all we need is a new perspective.
