Kia ora, I’m Kate, an Ōtautahi-based, Taranaki-raised creative. I find the world an infinitely interesting place, filled with experiences and ideas that show us what it means to live. Each fleeting moment will never be the same again -- through my photography and creative work, I aim to capture the essence of it to hold onto for just a little longer.

I have always photographed things, made things, and written things. Right from the moment I first snapped a photo on a tiny camera and drew that first picture, I have created relentlessly. Creativity is like breathing. Making is our nature. Throughout millennia we have cooked, gardened, built, painted, and sewn in order to live. In recent decades we have strayed from this natural tendency, but I aim to return to that, to help others return to it too. To slow dow, to enjoy beautiful things again, to stare at photos and get lost in them, to lie and watch the stars for hours, or the sunrise again and again.

I want us to slow down and see the good in the world. Because if we stop and look, it's there in abundance, all we need is a new perspective.
