Kia ora, I’m Kate, a New Zealand sports photographer based in Christchurch.

I find sport is one of the few areas in life that can bring people together from all over the world, despite differences that seem to divide us. The emotion and passion creates communities of supporters and athletes alike. We all remember the euphoric feeling of our favourite team winning, or the despair at tough moments you have worked hard for.

Sport encompasses not only the athlete, but supporters, family, coaches, officials and volunteers too. It takes a village. My specialty as a sport photographer is to capture the entirety of the event, race, or competition -- from action shots, to in-between moments, to sideline and crowd support. These special moments only happen once, but what caught on camera can be relived again and again. 

I have developed technical skills over many years and can work in a range of environments. Tennis, multi-sport / adventure racing, surf lifesaving, hockey, cycling, and rugby are particular focus areas -- although I can shoot any other sport too.
